How does sora hold his keyblade

I wonder if the Keyblade will ever leave Sora, and if he'll have to forge a new one to use. Maybe that'll be his next Mark of Mastery Exam.

Can you master using a Keyblade that isn't sentient and among the 3 most powerful weapons in the known universe? I mean, it practically does his job for him. That's an interesting thought and also pretty much all the keyblades in UX pretty much are based off of keychains throughout the Kingdom Hearts franchise. Also, I am not sure what you meant by keyblades dying along with their wielders? Do they just get destroyed like Ventus' keyblade did in BBS or just lie around where their wielder perished?

There are keyblades of light and dark, Mickey's is the counterpart to Sora's. Sora's keyblade also doesn't transcend time, Xion's keyblade was a sham, as Riku put it. Beyond that keyblades are defined by keychains, which are in turn defined by hearts. Aqua was able to wield a Destiny's Place after she met Kairi, but it wasn't Kairi's keyblade. Keyblades also aren't locked to a specific wielder. Anybody can hold one, but if the wielder is conscious it can be summoned back to them. A keyblade can still be separated from the user, like when Aqua used hers to save Terra.

Sora also uses Riku's keyblade during the final fight with Xemnas in KH2. Keyblades also don't "die" with their user, when Eraqus died his keyblade was left on the ground.

All Kingdom Key is, is Riku's keyblade, which became Sora's keyblade when it deemed Sora a stronger hearted individual. While it might change with future info from KHUX or something, as it stands Sora's keyblade isn't exceptional. And the keyblade probably won't leave him because it's iconic and marketable. Roxas and Sora never wield Kingdom Key at the same time. Xion's is supposedly a fake copy but who knows, it still seems to have the same abilities that any other keyblade would possess.

As for Roxas now in KH3 still dual wielding keyblades I would imagine he just has his own at this point. Honestly, I don't even care. Eraqus's keyblade seems to be special as well, tied to the Realm In-between. Especially seeing how Sora had to use it rather than his own to get to the Realm of Darkness.

Everyone else's keyblades seem to die with them as seen in the keyblade graveyard. I mostly mentioned multiple people wielding it at the same time because we see that Riku's other selves. Both replikus, and data Riku haven't been shown to weild his keyblade at the same time. One of the biggest evidences of it for me is that Kingdom Key just so happens to look exactly like the twin keys in the X-Blade.

That can't be a coincidence, especially since everyone else's keyblades are incredibly unique. Explore Wikis Community Central. Register Don't have an account?

At that point she was going to perform the rite of succession for Sora, but realized that Terra had already performed the rite for Riku. Not wanting Sora and Riku to end up fighting like she and Terra in the future, she didn't perform the rite for Sora.

Destiny 2. How did Sora get his Keyblade? Is Kairi a Keyblade Master? When did Riku get a Keyblade? Does Sora have his own Keyblade? How did Kairi get the Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts 2? The Keychains have the ability to change a Keyblade's stats, grant it special abilities, and give it a new appearance.

While most Keyblades have a basic form, like the Kingdom Key, a Keyblade wielder can upgrade and change the form of the Keyblade with a Keychain. In other words, when Sora or another wielder is equipping a "new" Keyblade, he or she is equipping a different Keychain to the Keyblade, changing its form. It has not yet been explained exactly what a Keychain is and why it has the power to transform the Keyblade. A wielder usually receives a Keychain after "completing" the events that transpire within a world.

These Keychains are often modeled after elements of the world from which they are received in some way. There are also a few Keychains that are found in chests, such as the Gullwings Keychain or the Oblivion Keychain. Sometimes, a Keyblade does not possess a Keychain. Some examples of this are the Keyblade of People's Hearts , the Keyblade created by gathering seven hearts of pure light , and Soul Eater. The broken Keyblades from the Keyblade Graveyard do not possess Keychains either.

The actual reason for the lack of a Keychain is unknown. The most prominent character in the series to use a Keyblade is Sora, who has used them successfully in the two main games in the series with one minor incident.

His ability to use and possess the Keyblade was a major plot point in the first game. He has used more Keychains than anyone else in the Kingdom Hearts series; the variations are created through various keychains attached to his original blade, the Kingdom Key. It looks the same as Kingdom Key, but its colors are inverted compared to the Kingdom Key. Sora's Nobody and the thirteenth member of Organization XIII, Roxas also possesses the ability to wield the Keyblade, an ability which Xemnas uses to his advantage by ordering Roxas to gather countless hearts to complete Kingdom Hearts itself.

Three Keyblade wielders before Sora, apprentices under Master Eraqus. Sharing a common foe, Master Xehanort, they each suffer horrific fates due to Xehanort's doing at the end of the game: Terra is possessed by Master Xehanort and becomes the new Xehanort who becomes Sora's archenemy; Ventus is rendered comatose after his heart is damaged following a victorious confrontation with his dark side, Vanitas; and Aqua is stranded in the realm of darkness.

All three currently await for Sora to rescue them from their fates. The primary antagonist of the entire series. As his original persona, Master Xehanort, Xehanort is a Keyblade Master with plans to unleash the secrets of the Keyblade War onto the worlds and engulf the universe in darkness. To this end, he steals Terra's body by transferring his heart into the latter's body and becomes the new Xehanort, much younger and agile, combined with the ability to wield the Keyblade with both Master Xehanort's and Terra's powers.

However, following confrontations with the Lingering Will and Aqua, he loses his memories, except for his name, thus losing his ability to wield the Keyblade, as his Heartless, "Ansem", is shown using a double-ended version of Riku's Soul Eater, and his Nobody, Xemnas, uses Ethereal Blades in battle, though Nomura hints that Xemnas possibly chose not to use a Keyblade.
