What is the difference between pioneer cdj 850 and 900

The 's do have HID support, check the pioneer website, I know they didn't at one point though. You don't want to rely on a club having a or above anyway, loads around here still have mk3's. The s do have HID support but not in Traktor. You could save a huge amount with getting a used set, which are readily available here in the UK. Yes that was the plan, I'm a real sucker for warranties and I've been stung by ebay before. Regarding quantized loops on the - I watched some demos of the Xone DB4 and it looks like it has built-in beat detection.

Thread starter dantboy Start date Oct 25, Aight guys i'm upgrading my decks as i've had my 's for a few years and they've been through the wars a bit.

I'm seriously looking at either the 's or 's with my favoured choice being the 's due to the cost. I wanted mk3 's as i've been using them all summer but don't really want to pay a high price for old technology. If i'm using a laptop with rekordbox and a pair of 's does the small screen on the 's really matter that much? As i'll be using the laptop screen to browse the tracks instead of the screen on the cdj. Also on Rekordbox you can set hotcue's but there isn't hotcue's on the 's.

Is there anyway you can utilise the rekordbox hotcues on the 's? Anyone with any other views or points please put them across as i've been debating this since i got back from the season in Ibiza. A mates lent me his 's for a week and had a few goes on another 's Thanks in advance guys. OllieNotts Well-Known Member. I would imagine its a lot more then the bar staff but could be very wrong. Is it easy or do you have to interview on decks or owt like that?

Ikoda Well-Known Member. How much do you have to spend on this new set up? What mixer do you have? What sound system? I know Doorly doesn't like the 's because it doesn't have hot cues. I also second OlskiNotts reply by asking if you did a deck interview thing? If it is, also have a look at the CDJ This one is a great choice for anyone who wants a Rekordbox experience very similar to the NXS2, but at around half the price.

It was designed for immediate playback without latency for accurate cueing , and was the first Pioneer CD player to feature a jog dial. Pioneer truly lived up to their name by conceptualizing this piece of history.

Pioneer had learned a few things since introducing the CDJ in … such as the fact that space was often limited in DJ booths! Pioneer also made improvements to reliability, and introduced the oil-damped shock absorption system which is still in use by modern CDJs.

The S introduced three on-board sound effects Jet, Zip, and Wah. Outside of this, the S was a very basic and cheap model intended for home use notice the lack of loop controls, for example. A display was introduced in the middle of the jog wheel which relayed positioning information… a handy tool for accurate cueing. Not only that, but they could manipulate the tracks in the same way that they could with a real turntable. You could also now use the digital output for actual DJing in the original, you could only use that for normal CD playback and not for manipulating the track.

Other improvements included a bigger, brighter, dots waveform display instead of the earlier 50 dots waveform , and the ability to record loops into Hot Cue slots instead of just cue points. Jog wheel resistance was made adjustable to suit different styles of handling. Also, the unit was changed to handle SD card media for storing cues and loops as opposed to the earlier MMC format..
